Celebrating its tenth anniversary, the largest online creator video convention Summer in the City will open its doors to vloggers and their fans next weekend. Over 12,000 fans, members of video blogging community and industry insiders are expected to attend, and the line-up includes well-known YT personalities such as PJ Liguori, Sophie Grace, Carrie Hope Fletcher or TomSka.

You’ll be able to meet your favourite vloggers, or if you create YouTube videos yourself, you can participate in a selection of talks and workshops during the Creator & Industry Day. The line-up includes 200 popular YouTubers from the UK and beyond – PJ Liguori (vlogger/filmmaker), Carrie Hope Fletcher (singer, author, West End actress known from Les Misérables), TomSka (comedian, producer), BodyPosiPanda (body positivity blogger and author) all among them.

What’s the plan for the weekend? A variety of meet-and-greets with content creators, workshops, panels and live performances are tightly packed into the schedule of the two-day convention, that takes place at ExCel London on the 11th and 12th of August. Whether you watch your favourite gamers, travellers, beauty bloggers, musicians or comedians, chances are that you’ll be able to hear from your favourite video bloggers.

“Summer in the City has always provided a safe, fun and memorable experience for attendees each year. We’re excited to celebrate this year with many amazing content creators, viewers and members of the industry alike,” said Tom Burns, a vlogger who founded Summer in the City back in 2009 and grew it from a park meet-up to a convention with over ten thousand people in attendance. “Ten years is a huge milestone not only for Summer in the City, but for the UK online creator community as a whole.”

The tenth anniversary will also kick-start International Vlogging Day to increase awareness about the benefits of vlogging (such as building confidence, participating in a community and making friends, learning new skills….), promoting the ideas of representation and empathy in the complicated times that come with brand-new challenges and engage young people to get involved with online video. Everyone can take part – just record a video about a topic that you’re passionate about, upload it on the 10th of August and tag it #VloggingDay.

The full line-up of the event, schedule and tickets (from £15) are available on the Summer in the City website.
