The original star-studded cast returns for the last time, making the Bellas story a trilogy.
While Pitch Perfect received quite a warm welcome, the reviews were slightly less favourable for Pitch Perfect 2 – but the a capella girls are back again, with more hits without a single instrument.
The cast, including Anna Kendrick, Rebel Wilson, Hailee Steinfeld, Elizabeth Banks, Brittany Snow, Anna Camp, Hana Mae Lee, Ester Dean, Alexis Knapp, Chrissie Fit, Kelley Jakle, Shelley Regner and John Michael Higgins, are all on board for this project. This time, the guest appearances of John Lithgow (recently in Beatriz at Dinner) and Ruby Rose will add to the star-studded performers’ list already.
Kay Cannon, who has recently written for Netflix series Girlboss, is yet again responsible for the script. Trish Sie, known from Step Up All In and various music videos (OK Go, for instance) directs the film, which is produced by Gold Circle Entertainment and Brownstone Productions.
If you’ve seen the previous ones, you’ll know that it has an a capella group the Bellas at the heart. The girls, who have spent their entire college life singing and attending international competitions, have graduated – but they’re about to find out that life isn’t easy for the artists out there ever if you’re a winner of the World Championships, and music can’t always pay the bills. However, they hit the road one more time, reuniting for another tour that’ll take them on new adventures abroad.
Pitch Perfect 3 is set to be released in the UK just in time for Christmas, on the 22nd of December 2017.
