Where Drive meets La La Land without Ryan Gosling, the nickname of the main character makes Dirty Dancing references write themselves. A new trailer for Edgar Wright’s newest feature Baby Driver has just dropped – alongside a tracklist for the soundtrack that the film has been timed to.

baby driver soundtrackAnsel Elgort (who you might have seen in The Fault in our Stars, Divergent series or off-beat Men, Women & Children) jumps behind the wheel to the beat of his favourite music that helps him to be the best in the game. But when he meets Deborah, he is desperate to ditch the criminal past and start anew. It’s never that easy, though: his boss demands him to finish off one more job to protect himself and his loved ones. We can take a peek at the protagonist in the featurette released a while ago:

And the cast is star-studded, too: Lily James (Cinderella) will play Baby’s love interest, while Kevin Spacey will become his boss. He’s also got his own vignette:

The soundtrack has already sparked the “Simon and Garfunkel universe” jokes on Twitter when the film offered the band’s discography as story inspirations. Meanwhile, here’s the list of the songs featured in the film – it covers pretty much every decade of contemporary music:

In case you missed it: the final song, a collaboration between Danger Mouse, Run the Jewels and Big Boi, is the original song produced for the Baby Driver soundtrack.
